A hands-on evening workshop at Platform Calgary — May 21st
If you've ever left a brainstorm feeling like the best ideas stayed stuck in people's heads, this workshop is for you.
On May 21st, Elisabet is bringing Presence and Play: A UX Toolkit for Creative Thinking to the KPMG Innovation Lab at Platform Calgary — a condensed, hands-on evening session for professionals who want practical tools for clearer thinking, better collaboration, and more sustainable creative work.
No design background required. Just bring yourself.
What to expect
This isn't a lecture. It's a working session — built around doing, not watching.
Over the course of the evening, you'll move through four areas of practice:
Grounding techniques for clarity and calmYou'll learn simple, body-based practices that help you arrive focused, reduce mental noise, and create the internal conditions that make genuine creative thinking possible. These are tools you can use before any workshop, presentation, or high-stakes conversation — not just here.
Play as a thinking toolOverthinking is one of the most common creativity blockers in professional work. The session explores how structured, intentional play helps bypass the analytical loops that slow ideas down — and how that translates directly into how you run workshops, lead teams, and solve hard problems.
LEGO® Serious Play® — experienced firsthandYou'll work with LEGO® Serious Play®, the facilitation methodology used by organizations from NASA to the United Nations. Rather than talking about ideas in the abstract, you'll build physical metaphors for them — and discover how much clearer thinking gets when it has something tangible to work with. LEGO sets are provided.
A personal toolkit to take back to workThe session closes with practical tools for managing the cognitive and emotional load of creative work — staying regulated under pressure, avoiding the slow accumulation of burnout, and building simple practices you can adapt in your own team sessions starting the next day.
Who this is for
This workshop is designed for anyone who does creative or collaborative work — designers, consultants, project leads, facilitators, and professionals who want to show up more clearly and work more sustainably. No prior experience with mindfulness or LEGO® Serious Play® needed.
